I do a lot of work for a insurance repair GC. often after a fire they ask me to string temp lights thru the house. The lights are mainly for the occupants to be able to remove their belongings, the adjuster walk thru, and the inital demo removing of damaged furniture etc.
My question is would any one be willing to share their methods for how they handle this type of work?
Do you use the premade ones? make your own? What have you found the be the best cost effective and safe way to do this type of work?

Please share any electrical, building, and safety codes they apply to this type of work that you are aware of.

I would suggest something portable.

We supply portable light stands and a generator when needed. Most of the fire restoration companys have theur own lights they just call us when they need a dedicated circuit for them.

There are many variables on the different types of fire jobs.
Generally, I suggest the premade lights for smaller jobs. NM and lights/cages on larger jobs.

The issue with portable lighting is just that...it is portable, which means more likely not to be there very long.;)
