Attached sketch shows utility Poco service conductors Srvc B tapped off of line side emergency compartment of main service switchboard ahead of six main service disconnect

The Srvc B conductors feed fire pump service rated controller but in trough connect to service conductor Srv C in trough. The Srv C service conductors feed the jockey pump service rated.

There are no backup generator and there is no overcurrent protection line side of jockey oump controller sefvice rated.

Questions:

1. Does NEC 2017 section 695.4(B)(2)(a)(1) says to size overcurrent protection based off of LRC of jockey pump and fire pump. However there is no overcurrent protection provided and they are all in fire pump controller and jockey pump controller. Would 695.4(B)(2)(a)(1) apply inside of the controllers? If yes then how can one check OCPD inside controllers?

2. Jockey pump circuit would it require outside OCPD since the rules of NEC 2017 section 430 apply or if the controller has OCPD this would be acceptable?

I had similar versions of this post earlier but this post is regarding OCPD of jockey pump controller so it is different then previous post
which involve grouping of disconnects and more than six disconnects (not this post)

If they are "Service Rated Controllers" from a plans review I would have no concern. If they are listed for the motors they should have the required OCP ot SCGF protection. It's up to the inspector to confirm that.

1. No.
2. No.

If the only OCPD in this lash-up is what's in the controller, run the conductors and walk away. Do not look outside 695 unless specifically instructed to by 695. Do not try to parse the requirements for inside the controller cabinet. You don't have to, and you're not qualified. The manufacturer has it all covered.
