We took over a job where previous contractor put the generator supply to the fire pump controller in the slab in the ceiling of the FP room. From what I have researched, the FPC is rated NEMA2 (dripping and light splashing). My question is can I enter the controller in the top of the cabinet? I planned on using a Meyers hub.

Thanks.

I know controller enclosures are available in NEMA 2 but I'm surprised they didn't go for 3R.

There is no restriction in NFPA 20 regarding the rating of the electrical enclosure for the fire pump controller. You might want to consult the manufacturer to see if they have any requirements for top vs bottom or side entry.

Thanks for the responses. I believe I have worked out a way, albeit ugly, to get into the bottom section of the controller. At least it's not as ugly as the exposed smurf and PVC the previous contractor ran everywhere.
