I have an existing emergency generator on the 20th floor roof. I have an existing Fire pump that needs to be feed from this emergency generator. Other than Rigid Gal is there anything else that needs to be considered for this type of an installation? Any help is appreciated.

Re: FIRE PUMP/ EMERGENCY GENERATOR

Yes lots and lots of stuff, lock rotor current of the firepump, voltage drop, I can go on and on ask a more specific question after you read section 695 of the code book

Thanks for the reply. One of my questions is does the feed from the emergency side of the generator have to be encased in 2 inches of concrete?

Re: FIRE PUMP/ EMERGENCY GENERATOR

They will probably need some type of fire protection. See 695.6 (B).

I think you can also get mineral insulated cable with a 1 hour fire rating.
