can you use pvc conduit under ground from bldg. 1 which is where the service is located to a fire pump which is located in a separate bldg. which is for the fire pump the fire pump will be backed up by a generator in case of a power failure if you can would the pvc have to in cased in concrete the bldg. is about 200 yds away when you enter the bldg. with the pvc must you convert over to rigid to run over to the control box designed for the fire pump . last ques can a step down transformer be feed off the conductors run from bldg. 1 for lighting and receps or must you run another circuit from bldg. 1 in a separate pipe for this purpose
 
NEC 695 does not require rating outside of a building. They do, however, require protection from potential damage. Will they be routed in an area subject to digging or vehicle traffic?

You'll have to give us a better description for the normal power source. It sounds like you are not providing the connection ahead of the main, but via branch circuit. And about the need for a step dwn - is it 208?

There are many other aspects to fire pump installations also. What occupancy type is this? Building height?
