can you use emt pipe in a bldg. that services the fire pump and the controls to it .I looked 695.6 e and it wans,t on the list cite other articles which may apply to this 2008 code was referenced

I am going to assume you meant 695.6(D)

(D) Pump Wiring. All wiring from the controllers to the
pump motors shall be in rigid metal conduit, intermediate
metal conduit, electrical metallic tubing, liquidtight flexible
metal conduit, or liquidtight flexible nonmetallic conduit
Type LFNC-B, listed Type MC cable with an impervious
covering, or Type MI cable. Electrical connections at motor
terminal boxes shall be made with a listed means of connection.
Twist-on, insulation-piercing–type, and soldered
wire connectors shall not be permitted to be used for this
purpose.

thanks for your quick reply but the 2008 is still in effect in pa . amazing but true, the 2017 code is out and probably will be adopted an pa. will still be on the 2008code because of the members of the RAC committee in regards to fire pumps , the 2008 code pages593 & 594 article695.6 e pump wiring does not list emt in that section there was a change in the 2011 nec article 695.6 (d) allowing emt for pump wiring but if a contractor uses emt in pa.now the inspector will tell him ,sorry you have to remove the emt and follow the guidelines of the 2008 nec has any other contractors run into this type of problem
