Working on a hospital that has the following distribution:
13.8kV S&C existing switchgear to remain
Primary metered.
Primary switches feed each of two 2500kVA transformers which in turn feed two ends of a double ended 480V switchgear lineup.
Now - We're replacing that double ended lineup as well as the two transformers lets say in kind (although now they're smaller). At present the Fire Pump is fed from a breaker in the double ended line up. I cannot immitate that I realize, but my question is do I have to tap one of the main switches in the 13.8kV gear or can I tap ahead of the 480V switchgear main. If it matters, the 13.8kV lineup and transformers are outside, the 480V switchgear is indoors.
Thanks,
Mike
