Fire pump room, wet location

I don't think it is. I have put electrical equipment in the same room as fire pumps, and have never treated that equipment as though it were in a wet location. Is someone making an issue of this?

If you see water in the fire pump room, there is a problem.
It is a dry location.

See the definition of dry and wet locations in the code.

We have an AHJ down here that says it is. I thought I looked this up about a year ago and they were right. Looked again today and couldn’t find it .
i-codes maybe.

Where in the codes does it say the above is a wet location?

Thanks

It's not a wet location as defined in the NEC. There are, however, some requirements along these lines. The listing standards for fire pump controllers requires the controller to be drip proof and the NEC and NFPA 20 has some requirements to not violate the integrity of the controller enclosure. See 695(6)(J) and (I) and NFPA 20.
