I have another question on fire pump supply conductors. We have a service supplying a service entrance MLO switchboard. The switchboard has a separate vertical section with taps to supply the fire pump as shown in the 2020 handbook, Exhibit 695.3, config #1. The switchboard is indoors, and the fire pump is in a separate building.
My understanding is that as long as the switchboard section is isolated, and all conductors are installed per 230.6 (in this case both the service conductors and the fire pump conductors are routed below the floor per 230.6(1)) then no additional protection is required. Is this correct? Just confirming there is not any other requirement i am missing due to the unprotected service conductors coming into the room then leaving the room without any OCPD.
