Fire pump system fed by overhead service

I was searching the web and ran across an article that stated that a fire pump system could not be fed from an overhead service. The article referred to NFPA 20 Annex A, but gave no specific code article number. I looked in Annex A and also in chapter 9 and could not find a code section that addressed this question. Any help on this sure would be appreciated.

In the Annex A to the 2016 edition of NFPA 20, the requirement is under A.9.3.2(3). However, note that this appears under the section, "Alternate Power" (9.3), not "Normal Power" (9.2), although the arguments made in that sub-section could easily apply to either source.
