I have two rooms in 4 story hotel located on first floor: one is electrical room and second is mechanical room. Both rooms are side by side separated by fire wall. Mechanical room has additional items besides fire pump: 4 gas water heaters, water softners, boster pump, and expansion tank.

Fire pump is placed in mechanical room. Does not fire pump require fire pump room and not be placed in mechanical room?

No takers on this one either huh? Where is my buddy electrofelon :)

I am thinking but not sure NFPA 20 allows domestic water distribution equipment but I could be wrong and I am not sure if above are domestic water distribution equipment related.

Per NFPA 20:

4.12.1.1.5 Equipment related to domestic water distribution
shall be permitted to be located within the same room as the
fire pump equipment.

However, an appendix note says:

A.4.12.1.1.4 Equipment that increases the fire hazard (such
as boilers) and is not related to fire protection systems should
not be in a fire pump room.

It might be an AHJ call as to whether domestic hot water is OK under the first section, despite the gas-fired water heaters that might be considered non-compliant with the second section.

NFPA 20 explanatory notes says not to have fuel fired equipment in the room.
