Te engineers at the hotel are suppling basic halo cans. I remember a previous job I did and it called for fire rated cans.

can anyone help me out?

Your question is too vague to answer. The lobby may be rated or may not be rated.

The lobby may be rated or may not be rated.
That's the key. You have to determine if the ceiling has a specific fire rating. If so, I don't believe you'll be able to use the std. halo cans. If the engineers insist on using them make sure you get something in writing and that you are held-harmless.

Both Cooper & Juno I know make a fire rated recessed housings. Tenmat makes a fire rated tent for recessed housings.

But as others have said check the existing ceiling rating.
