I have an existing riser ( goes all the way up the building) with an existing tap box on floor of my work.
Existing feeder and panel on this floor are being demolished.
They are calling for new RHH/RHW fire resistive conductors from existing tap box to new panel on this floor.
Would the splice/tap need to be fire rated? Maybe the existing tap box is fire rated?? Thanks

Where is the riser located at? Is it in stacked electrical rooms that are 2-hour rated, or protected with a sprinkler system?

If you are referring to an emergency feeder, then it must be protected with a 2-hour assembly; whether that be the raceways and boxes, or a building-constructed 2 hour rating.

The location is not clear. Looks to be on wall in open area. Def not a closet. Thanks.
