Fire suppression wiring question

The fire suppression system for a commercial kitchen was moved, fire suppression people just left the wiring as is. There is a box containing a single pole switch (this switch according to the owner is able to turn the Exhust Fan on and off),it was wired with, in one conduit the hot and a white wire with orange tape ( this is the switchleg to the exhust fan). In the other conduit that was a black, and a white with orange tape these went to the fire suppression box that has a red, black and yellow leads. I believe the red is the common and the others are a NO and NC lead from a microswitch. I opened the switch box and disconnected what was there to refeed the fire suppression system. Doing so I have forgot how the switch was wired. any ideas? does the hot just feed through the box to the common of the FS system and then the NO lead become the switchleg back to the exhust fan switch? Help please
