Often there is a gas solanoid too. But they come with instructions, and whoever is doing its install should be coordinating the many trades invloved, and what needs to happen and when. Smoke exaust or not, HVAC shut down, fire dampers, make-up air closed, gas shut off, alarm supervision, and what power needs to be shut off. For the most part, everything under the hood gets shut off - and there are a number of ways to do that.
Shunt/under voltage trip breakers work best if all the circuits are in the same area of panels. Just a spare back to the panel, and you can go panel to panel in feeder conduits most times. This method is rather uncomplicated. Otherwise you could just use relays and contactors but that can be a bit of work.
