Holly-Molly!! Picture this. 45,240 square feet of warehouse for storing fireworks. Correct me if I'm wrong, is this a Class II Div. 2 Hazardous Location? [500.5(B)(2)para 2] 35 foot ceilings with open 400watt metal halide fixtures some with restrikes. Shouldn't they have to have dust covers on those fixtures? If one bulb explodes because of a power surge or what ever the cause----BOOOOOOM!!!! The building and surrounding area is gone.

Re: Fireworks Warehouse

In a sense, pyrotechnic installations are similar to those found in the ?specialty? Articles 511 to 516. They have specific installation requirements for the subject matter under discussion.

The difference is that pyrotechnic Standards (generally the NFPA 1100 Series with 1124 being the ?core?) may not necessarily require a location to be ?Classified,? but they do refer back to the NEC for specific installation practices that are generally consistent with Chapter 5, especially Article 502.
