Hi, my name is Scott. i graduated tech school in may 2002 with electrical technology diploma. I have 1 year exp in residential/light commercial installation/troubleshooting, 2 years in electric motor repair shop, and now my current job I've held for 3 years so far as an industrial electrician at a factory.

i would like to someday be able to start my own electrical business, IF I WANT TO, like wiring houses, service calls , etc legally.

my question is, when am i eligible for tests and what all tests do I have to take and pass?

Thanks for any responses,
Scott

Welcome Scott!

Many states require proof from your various employers (Master electrician) to show you have been in the trade, and working under a licenced Master Electrician for the required time. If this is so in your area, you might wish to contact previous employers now, just to get your ducks in a row, so to speak.

I got burned on this myself. Didn't get letters when I left companies, and a couple went out of business, and I couldn't locate the Master. Cost me a few years.
