First time user

This is the first time i use this forum. Any response will be greatly appreciated. If i run 2 hots and a ground to a single phase 240volt motor, then i tap off 1 leg and run that leg and a neutral to feed lights and outlets. I will use a 2 pole 20amp breaker in panel. If something goes wrong with the lights or outlets, will the double pole breaker trip?

Yes, the dp breaker will trip however the load of the motor is not allowed, by code, to be more than 50% of the circuit when you feed lights & rec.
