Can you use a standard cord connector fitting on type TC-ER cable or does the NEC require that it must be a connector rated for type TC cable? I see that TC rated connectors are required for some hazardous hazardous areas but I can not find any info on non-hazardous areas.

Thanks much

Does the fitting specify a range of OD that includes the TC-ER in question?
Even if it does, I think it would be a listing violation IF the manufacturer specifies cord types.

Yes the fitting size will match the OD of the type TC-ER but is rated for cords and not type TC cable.
I would just use type TC rated connectors but they are more costly, not as available, and not available is steel (Only alum or Stainless).
