I am not sure if most AHJ would accept or not but I have conference room where they are putting receptacle on the table itself and they say table is large enough to have fixed receptacles. NEC 2017 Article 210.61(B) does mention fixed furniture but would large table in conference be considered fixed furniture or not?

Very common practice...sometimes hard wired, and sometimes connected with a flexible cord to a receptacle in the floor.

It's done all of the time for large conference rooms tables.
I have mostly seen it done with receptacles built into the table, connected to a floor receptacle with a flexible cord. This makes it part of the table and not a substitute for building wiring. Not sure if table then requires UL approval. :)
They used to have phone lines and CAT5 internet too, but that has mostly been superceded by WiFi and cell phones.
Maybe one phone outlet for a wired speakerphone before Zoom and other network meeting protocalls took over.
