So walk the site to verify coordination and not hits with fixtures were putting in.

Ceiling is wide open and space is gutted.
There is a run of existing sprinkler pipes I say running above where we are installing (2) 2x4 layins.

I thought it would clear but when we put our fixture in it hits the existing sprinkler pipe. We need about another 1-1/2" clearance ugh!!!!

Anyway I'm getting ripped by GC as I signed off on the coordination drawing. Yes I guess this completely my fault, correct? LOL

They are saying any rework is going to be at the expense of my company.

A lot of variations can occur during installation. Most common is different mechanicals installation slightly different from specs. Pipe fitter encountered obstacle and rather than piping around or saddling, just lower section of pipe. HVAC adjusted size of ducting or location to make their life easier or adjust for air flow. Ceiling or floor treatments caused altered clearance and thus raising grid and now you lost anticipated clearance. Last in, ends up taking the brunt of these alterations that are not in plans, and the Electrician gets no respect and thought of "you move your stuff" when other trades cause interference in electrical installation, even if your design is spec. in on the prints.

But this was an existing sprinkler pipe and not part of this project.

Larry's right... check to see if the ceiling was installed at the prescribed height.....sound more like an architectural or ceiling grid installer than your problem....
See if they would be interested in LED lighting panels

How critical is it that you stick with the original spacing of the fixtures? Surely there isn't so much piping that you can't shift a tile or two over where there are conflicts. Maybe not a viable solution if you're dealing with a bunch of tiny closed rooms, but if you're dealing with a more open layout, could be a no/low cost solution.
