Seemed simple enough. 6 can lights on single pole switch in basic ranch. I bidded $875

Here is what happened. Some kind of double triple plaster/drywall ceiling seperated by 1x4" furring strips then plywood over entire attic floor. :rant::rant:

That looks exactly what I ran into on a remodel job I just finished. I ended up just using remodel boxes and exchanges the 8/32's for much longer ones and using the leds that look like cans but install into round ceiling boxes.
That job was interesting. One wall had two layers of rock and then lath and plaster on each side of the wall with 1 by sixes in the middle . Took me 1 1/2 to cut in the switch/recepticle for the vanity light. Didn't come out to well on that one either.
As Solomon said better is the end of a matter than the beginning thereof.
