Flex to generator

I think I've read on here that it's not required by the NEC but what is common practice for the flex going to the generator? LFMC or LFNC?

I never quite understood why people use the plastic coated corrugated metal stuff. My experience with it is that it comes apart a lot easier in the field than the straight plastic stuff.
