Flexel EMT Flexible Fitting

Never used or installed one, but I've seen them used in large, big-box stores like Wally World. There's placed in those buildings that are designed to move, so those are installed when the pipe runs cross that spot.
 
After seeing the price on those (the supply house guy tried to sell me some) I practiced up with my bender - if you need one of those it's probably a standard type of bend or at most an offset that's dog-legged on purpose.

We just use FMC to cross expansion joints unless the specs require the use of an expansion fitting.

I've installed a couple of those when I was working at the Aladdin Hotel & Casino construction project in Las Vegas. We used 5 each 2" x 24". I can't remember why we installed them but they look nicer than flex and they don't snag a wire run when pulling it in as easy as flex either.
 
I have never uses one, but I bet they cost way more than they are worth, I own a bender and know how to use it, and greenfield is readily avaliable and fairly inexpensive...
 
I suppose this may be one advantage over greenfield:

I saw a TON of these in the showroom in the Venetian in vegas a few years ago. They used them on pretty much every bend in the place that wasnt a 90 or 45. i dont thing the EC had a big bender or something
 
I've seen them. It's one of those items where you look at and go, "Hmm...that's neat! But I'll just keep on using what's been working fine for years."

For building expansion joints, it's sealtite or FMC. Whatever the building owner requires. If I need a bend in the larger trade sizes (read <2"), I'll have our prefab shop bend one up for me.

On rubber roofs when installing either rigid or emt i use liquid tite flexible metal conduit to span across dips in the roof, like when they slope it for drainage.

Paul, I have used the flex for expansion before but does it really expand like a expansion fitting does? Just the other day I installed 3 2" crouse and hinds expansion fitting, they are required in every 100' of straight conduit run and are timely to install, you have to tighten the rigid coupling then the raintite emt connector then the expansion hub and another emt connector, which only turns in maybe 5 turns, major pain in the neck, and expensive. I would like to know if you know any info on the expansion of LTFC?
