Flexible conduit in between rigid metal conduit

i need to run cables to a heat detector in an existing pump in a class 1 division 2 area.I ran new rigid metal conduit all the way from the junction box to the pump.Then i will be using an existing conduit.Is it a voilation if i am using a flexible metal conduit with a bonding jumper between the two rigid metal conduits.

510.15(B)(2) says, "Where provision must be made for flexibility..." but eludes specifying criteria or examples for such.

From your description, I gather flexibility is not required, and therefore a violation... but JMO.
