When looking at flexible cord and cable to determine the type; say SOW,SOOW where being used for carnival and fair service hookups. I have seen embossed into the cable jacket MSHA (Mining Safety and Health Administration) what i call a consignment code that consists of a letter and numerical code. In these applications the stamped UL listing is usually worn off the cord and cannot determine if the cord is SOW,SOOW for example. Does anyone know if a cross reference table is available to tell if the MSHA consignment code could also mean Service cord,Oil Resistant and Weather Resistant for SOW cord for example. Some times both a UL stamped indication is still visible along with the MSHA embossed code, i have meant that to be anytime i see just an MSHA code, that the cord is probably SOW or SOOW. Any thoughts on this matter, has anyone had experience with this situation? Thanks
