We have tables set up in a " U " shape on the manufacturing floor . We have 120 V flexible cord pendant drops to about 5 ft above the floor . Can we run a flexiible cord with a male cord cap from the pendant drop to a 4" sq box with a raised cover with 2 duplex outlets on this mounted to a table ? They change these area's around every once in awhile so we are trying to make things more easier to relocate .Not sure about using the flexible cord to make our own outlet box ?????

It sounds like an application where the use of flexible cord is permitted.

The issue is the manner in which the cord enters the box.

While some will say a box with a threaded entry is required, I do not consider these to be 'pendant' boxes in any way. Still, there are the issues of debris entering the box and the possibility of the receptacles pointing 'up.'

While ordinary 2-screw clamps are listed for use with flexible cords, to use them really is not wise. The connectors with the rubber grommets are tested to a far higher standard, and their listing is more in line with the proposed use.

Ultimately, you're not simply doing 'electric work.' You're manufacturing an appliance. You need to consider all the issues such a manufacturer would face.
