Could anyone clear up the interpitation of the uses of flexible cords. According to 400.7 I can use flexible cord for wiring of luminaires (fixtures) and 400.8 tells me that UNLESS SPECIFICALLY PERMITTED IN 400.7 FLEXIBLE CORDS AND CABLES SHALL NOT BE USED FOR THE FOLLOWING: As a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure and that I cannot attach to a building surface.
How far can I run the 14-3 SOE to a fixture from a branch circuit before it is considered wiring of a structure. And are there any exceptions to attaching to a building surface other than 368.8 for busways.
I wonder how SPECIFICALLY PERMITTED is used in this interpitation.
What would be the normal installations of installing a luminaire 30-40 feet along the ceiling of a building to a outside green house open to all types of weather conditions.
