Flicker lights with dimmer.

Have some bulbs im going to check out, they are not fluorescent or LED lights. Im not actually what type they and am hoping to find that out shortly. The problem is when the lights are dimmed they flicker, any ideas?

Probably a bad, or undersized dimmer

im no electrician, how can you tell if that's the case? Maybe take some bulbs out to lighten the load?

Calculate the total wattage of the bulbs and check the wattage of the switch.

make sure you have the right dimmer for the load supplied,mangnetic lo vo load sometimes needs a dimmer with a neutral connection. check out lutron.com for tons of info in there app. notes
