Industrial application is a floating platform (in pond) with 3 - 480 VAC TEFC motors in a Class I, Division 2 area. Motor controller will be on shore.

Looks like Art 682 requires "all" electrical connections to be 30 inches above water level and 12 inches above deck level. I presume this includes the motor connections since the motors are not submersible.

Can SOOW cord be used submerged from shore to the floating platform? If not, what would be a better choice?

Thanks.

Type G, GGC and W cable are suitable for being submerged in water. That's what we use for marina work.

Is there a pier that leads out to the floating platform? Or is it an 'island'?

It will be an "island", and a pretty small island at that. Just a couple of small floats with a platform probably less than 6' x 6'.

I don't have any experience with a floating 'island' structure. G cable is VERY durable, and is very flexible. It's also VERY expensive. ;)
