Floor receptacle in bathroom?

I have a customer that asked if she could have a floor receptacle in her bathroom. As long as it's over 3 ft from the tub, is there anything that says there can't be a floor receptacle in a bathroom? I don't recall anything in the code book specifically stating that, but figured I should ask here too in case I missed something.

Thank you!

I would think about whether the floor is considered a wet area. Toilets, tubs and sinks overflow. Kids and even grownups cause standing water. I know floor covering specs distinguish between bathrooms and other areas. I know of no floor boxes that are listed for floors that may get wet.

I have inspected a job where a receptacle was mounted in tub space for a TV. Electrician left it in for inspection so that I would find it, write it up , so that he might convince the homeowner that it was a violation.

they exist, hubbell makes some that have a drain in the bottom, but these are for convention centers not residential bathrooms.

So does the plumber have to assist you with those and hook it up to drain piping? Proper trap and venting may be critical here even a check valve in some cases to prevent backing up through the floor box.

This is starting to become WAY too complicated.
