I wonder if that's the same plug Piper Aircraft adopted (many decades later) for jumper cables?

I think a little different but similar design. I have some of those that are pictured in your post. They use them for higher amperage accessories on trailers, like winches and autotarpers

My uncle had a Rauch and Lang like the one shown in this video in his collection. It was a fun car to drive with the passenger seats facing the driver. He sold it in the late 1970's
