I'm a little confused on the requirement of the 4 hour building code core class, and I hope someone else licensed in FL can help me out. I attended Mike Holts live seminar in Orlando last year for my CE hours, and I have renewed my FL EC license- it is now good thru 8/31/2010. I took his two day seminar for CE hours, but I have not taken the 4 hour core class. How was I able to renew my license without this course? Mike Holts website states that this course must be taken within 2 years of being licensed. Since I was licensed in March, 2007, I guess I should be taking this class?

Also, I have looked all over the FL Electrical Contractors website, and I cannot locate this requirement. Is it even still required?

Core Course

Hi, The Florida Department of Community Affairs (Building Dept) mandated back in 2004 that anyone with a construction license was mandated to take the Core Course which is only offered through their website which is this link http://www.dca.state.fl.us/fbc/training/1_training.htm#training
