I used to work in Alabama. We did cell phone cites along the Gulf Coast from Tallahassee to Biloxi MS. The contractor I worked for needed to get a contractors license for FL too, and they made him take the exam. He was a nervous wreck for a week before the exam. Anyway, it is my understanding FL dose not reciprocate with any other states, everyone has to take the exam. Good Luck.

My understanding is that once all is said and done, obtaining the licensing costs thousands. Not sure on the exact thousands, but it's a lot.

The Florida ECLB does not reciprocate with other states but does license upon endorsement of another state in accordance with F.S. 489.511.

Florida currently recognizes the following state examinations for endorsement:

• Florida Unlimited Electrical (EC) = North Carolina Unlimited
• Florida Unlimited Electrical (EC) = Georgia Class II Unrestricted & Low Voltage Unlimited (must hold both Georgia licenses)
• Florida Unlimited Electrical (EC) = California Electrical C-10 License Examination
• Florida Residential Specialty (ES) = Georgia Class I
• Florida Residential Specialty (ES) = North Carolina Limited License (L)
• Florida (Low Voltage) Limited Energy (ES) = North Carolina Sp-LV
• Florida (Low Voltage) Limited Energy (ES) = California Electrical C-7 License Examination

Yes and no.

We reciprocate with other states who have requirements equal to or greater than our requirements.

If you're from Alabama and that state has lower requirements, you're going to have to meet our full requirements and pass the test.
If you're from Massachusetts and their requirements are equal to or greater than ours, you can enjoy reciprocity and just do paperwork, etc.
