Has anyone recently (last year or so) taken the Florida unlimited ? Drop me a PM if so. I have a couple of questions regarding what you can and can not have in your code book.

Thanks

Re: Florida test

The booklet they give you says the following.
Reference materials with hand-written notes are NOT allowed in the examination sites. Existing handwritten notes, formulas, indexing systems, etc. must be blackened out or whitened out completely by the candidate prior to arrival at the test center, prohibiting legibility. Typewritten notes are also prohibited. Reference books that have been underlined with pen or highlighter are authorized. Permanently attached book tabs with normal chapter headings are allowed; however, tabs must not contain statements, formulas, etc. Any removable tabs that would not damage a page if removed are prohibited. Post-it Flags or Notes are NOT permitted. You will not be permitted to write, underline, or highlight in your reference books during the administration of the examination.

Re: Florida test

They enforce these rules very loosely. Basically, the proctor will pick up the book and shake it open to remove any loose papers, and then perform a really quick flip through to make sure the note taking or writting is not excessive.

I have taken at least a dozen exams in the past five years that all make this statement and I have a ridiculusly noted and highlighted code book. I have yet to experience a problem.

Re: Florida test

Thanks for the input Bryan and Chris. I guess my specific question is regarding the stick-on formula wheel that I got from Mike Holt. Would they make me peel that off too ? I've already whited out all of my notes and cut my formulas from the blank pages in the back. Like you, Bryan, I had copious notes in my book.

I wonder if I can wear my Mike Holt formula wheel watch ??

I took it in March 2005 and had a wheel on my calculator. There is also a wheel in the telecommunications book of all places. It is on page 6.

Highlights were allowed and tabs were ok as long as they were permanent. They made us pull off the post it index tabs.

Yeah, I knew about the post-it tabs. I pulled those off already. I just have a lot of handwritten notes on my pages and in the back. Most are just reminders to myself to look somewhere else for an exception, etc. I did have a lot of formulas in the back pages, but I ripped those out already. Sounds like I'll be OK with what I've got. Thanks.
