I am preparing for the Florida state unlimited masters exam. I feel I have a good handle on the code and calcs, but I am concerned about the "other questions" such as with OSHA, alarms, ect..
My question is, how many "other" questions are from outside the code book, and would you recommend any of the reference books or just all of them?

When I took my unlimited test the 1st time I didn't bother getting all the other books that they "suggest" you have. When I walked up to the line at the test center with just my code book I got a few snickers from others taking the test when I told them I only had my NEC. Let's just say that once the test was over I wished I had studied those other books.

Thanks for the response. So, how many questions were from outside the NEC, and which books were of the most help.
I have the contractor?s manual on order, and I'm sure I'll need more.

I have time before the state blesses me with approval for the exam, so I?m just trying to gather as much info as I possibly can, Thanks

From what I recall there were questions from all of the books in one form or another. Probably half were from the NEC. I can specifically remember questions on concrete, alarm systems, etc. I haven't checked the latest book list, but if you send it to me and any of them are still the version I have I'd be happy to send them to you for postage.
