Hi, Just wanted to get an opinion. I have 12-8' florescent 2 bulb lights.I wanted to run 12-3 multi-wire circuit the 4 gang box.But was wondering if this is a good idea?I thought i remember something about not wanting to run a multi-wire with ballasts because they create harmonics and the neutral will be overloaded. Not a big deal was just wondering. Thanks

I agree, no big deal.

Servicing the luminaire will present more of a hazard then will the possibility of harmoic currents. Hence the 410.73(G) requirement.

I am assuming that this is a single phase, 120/240 volt system. If so, there is no problem with excessive neutral current caused by harmonics. That problem only exists on three phase systems, where the current from the odd order harmonics can add and result in an overloaded neutral. On a single phase system, the harmonic current does not add in the grounded conductor.
