I have a i3000s-36 flexible current clamp and although it works well I would like to have a 24, does anyone know of another manufacturers flexible clamp that works with Fluke 180 series meters?

TIA

Yours is the 36" don't they make this in 24 also?

Yes they do, I'm just wondering if another manufactures product will work with Fluke meters for a price comparison.

I do not know what are you trying to measure...I own the fluke 87, plus the 80i-600A AC Current Clamp.

At times the 36 is a little to much to fit into some tight places.

A AEMC 3000A 24" FLEX is $249 and a Fluke 24" i3000 FLEX is $396. Check the specs as their might be something that warrants the extra bucks!

EDIT: The Fluke has 30A, 300A and 3000A ranges whereas the AEMC has only 300A and 3000A ranges.

Thanks, but the question is, will the AEMC (or any others) work with Fluke meters.

Look here. They have two designed for DMM, scopes, etc. The 2120.81 has banana plugs on short leads for a DMM, scope, etc. The 2120.82 doesn't have the banana leads but banana pins with standard 3/4" spacing.

It's a matter of choice if you want that adapter sticking up from your DMM or have it dangling from the short leads.

Very good, that's definately better the Flukes $400.00, thanks

Now, do you or anyone else have any experience in making Fluke View Forms version 1.6 work with Vista?

FVF isn't Vista compatible till v3.4 is released although some have said that they got v3.x to work with some trickery! There will be a free upgrade from v3.3 to v3.4 at least Fluke has stated. The v3.3 was released at the same time as the new 287/289 DMM which wasn't compatible with earlier versions of FVF.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I was able to get 1.6 to work with XP but can only get the "Virtual Meter" to work with Vista, I can't get it to Log. Guess it's time to buy 3.4

Thanks again

FVF v3.4 isn't released yet and the links from FVF v3.3 take you to a page that only has a patch to v3.31. You "might" have better luck with v3.3. Get the FVFUG which is the software only but as old as your version is, I'd check with Fluke first. As I remember, you couldn't upgrade from v2.x to v3.0.

I was using v2.x and upgraded my PC from W98SE to XP Home and couldn't install what I had under XP. I emailed them and somebody was going to send me a free copy of v3.0 but after numerous tries, I got it to install. I told them that it finally installed but they said we'll send you the copy anyway! I thought, yeah, right. Short time later, there it was!

There wasn't a upgrade path from v3.0 to v3.3, I bought the FVFUG.

I'm in no real hurry, I have a machine that I can still use 1.6 on until 3.4 is released.
