I am installing 2*4 4 tube fluorescent wrap around fixtures in a 32 feet by 22 feet room with an 8 foot ceiling. Does anyone have a quick and easy way of determining the amount of fixtures to use and how to space them?

It somewhat depends on what the space is used for. Some areas have codes that require a minimum lumen so that may be an issue.

I believe there are formulas for that but what I have seen is something like 4' troffer then skip to tiles (8') and so on. Then skip 3 rows (6) in the direction of the width of the fixture.

Look at other offices and see what they did and that will help.

For every 10 x 10 space we would use 2 3 lamp t8 4' lay in lights. That might be slighly over on actual formulas but any less any its hard to cover the whole area. Also anymore than 2 fixtures and we either put dual switching or o/ c.

The lower ceiling makes it more difficult. If it was an open area, three fixtures in a line or four 3 lamp high efficiency Paramax in approximately where tires sit when a car is perfectly centered in the garage works fine.

But if this lay out causes the fixture to be right where the cubicle dividers cross, it isn't the best pattern.
Cubicle dividers and cabinets become more significant as they get taller relative to the ceiling height.

Your wholesale house lighting rep can run the calcs for you. You need to know the lumens of the lamps. In the back of the
GE catalog was a handy procedure for that type of application.

Minimum recommended IES lighting level for private offices is 50. Open office usually require minimum 30 footcandles. You only need six of the 4-lamp fixtures to get at least 50 footcandles. But the uniformity is going to be very poor with an 8' ceiling. I would never use 4-lamp fixtures for an 8' ceiling. A 2 or 3-lamp fixture and closer spacing would do a better job.
