This isn't a specific code question, but I was wondering if T-30 lamps will work if it is run from a T-25 electronic ballast? If it does, will it prematurely burn out the bulb? I currently have a 36 inch 2-lamp fixture with F-30 T-12's and a standard ballast, and wanted to know if I change out the ballast to an electronic ballast if I would need to change to T-8's or could I stay with the T-12's. Thanks.

Re: Fluorescent lighting

There should be labeling on the ballast itself or you can check the listing of the ballast to see if it is allowed and will work with the particular lamp you wish to use.

Re: Fluorescent lighting

Just remember to read the ballast for the type of bulbs use. If you use the wrong ones you could burn out the bulbs and you could start a fire also. Most fires start in this type of lighting because of the wrong bulbs installed. Wrong bulbs will over heat your ballast. Bye now!
