Fluorescent Recessed Fixtures

I can not find in the NEC book if it is acceptable to use a screw-in bulb in the bathroom recessed fixture. We have been using the plug in however, they are getting pretty pricey . If anyone has any ideas please let me know

RECESSED LUMINARES HAVE THE BULB TYPE AND TRIM TYPE LISTED ON THE INSIDE OF THE RECESSED CAN. IF YOUR LAMP IS LISTED, YOU CAN USE IT.

Bigharv, if you are referring to using a standard recessed incandescent fixture can and installing screw-in fluorescent bulbs, for the energy saving requirement in the bathroom, the answer (at least in California) is no. The luminaire(fixture) must be fluorescent only.

This is an exerpt from California's Title 24 Building Standards from the California Energy Commission -"Fluorescent lights must be hard wired and cannot contain a medium base incandescent(standard light bulb) lamp socket. This is to prevent the possibility of incandescent light bulbs being installed at a later date."

I don't know what Federal(or other State)Laws say about this....
