I had posted a question about a month ago on what to use for vertical support for conductors installed up the face of a dam.
Details:
500 feet across the top
125 feet from bottom to top
I determined that expansion couplings would be required, as the RMC would expand several inches.
The two types of vertical support for conductors I found were made by:
OZ Gedney-a rubber clamp that the conductors run thru, they all have to be the same size
Woodhead- a wire mesh basket that hangs from a coupling or junction box.
I elected to go with the woodhead as my conductors were different sizes.
We had a contractor on site with a crane & man basket for other work, we wanted to run the conduits at the same time. The materials were estimated at $12,000, and the bids were $85,000 and $90,000! The high cost is due to premium pay for working from a basket, and the several weeks to install.
