I have a food warmer that the tag sais, 120V single phase, MCA 24 and MAX.HACR Breaker 20 Amp. This unit has no motor only lamps and heating elements.
How can the MCA be more than the breaker size.?

That sounds like a call to the manufacturer or the listing agency to get that answer.

It sounds like the manufacturer did their max current draw and the max OCPD in reverse. They had the right concept of the breaker's 80% rating. 24A - 80% is 19.2A. 20A - 80% is 16Amps.

I think the max draw is 16Amps and the OCPD is 20Amps.

Maybe they are figuring a higher ckt ampacity because of the heat produced by the appliance. Is it possible any if the heat will reach the wiring?

The heat will Not reach the circuit wiring.And the appliance conductors have much higher temperature rating.
