I am happy to say this is not the work of the companies I have worked for.
But we do have to bid against ECs like this.![]()
That's a real mess. I hope that it gets inspected
For the first time since joining this forum, I felt like throwing up.
However, that's not a reason to hate romex. It's a reason to hate those with no pride in their work.
Care to tell why anyone would do this. Looks large to be using romex. What about bundling problems ? I somehow was sure it not your work.

It was and it is in service.
Bob if you have to compete against installation practices like that I don't know how you could ever be awarded a contract. A good inspector is a contractors friend, he would keep the playing field code complient. I think that the inspector that approved this installation must be somebody elses friend!
They can't tag because of ugly. I am surprised that nm would be allowed in a store of this size. Hate to think what happens in a fire with people trying to breath while getting out.
On bright side if Bob was there chances are was to do work. That usually means customer didn't like the first guy.
....... But in all fairness maybe they derated the bundled nm cable.
When work as bad as this is inspected and passed, it will lend itself towards becoming normal work. At that point it is hard to blame just the installer, as the inspector is the last line of "defense" in this case.
So I blame the inspection process here, the GC, the owner of the place for allowing this to occur.
Their misunderstanding that saving money means poor work is just wrong.
P.S.
Send me to that job.![]()
