I saw a post form 2008 with what I think is the same question, however nobody seemed to understand the nature of the question.... In the Denver market I'm guessing over 90% of homes utilize gas fired forced air furnace with an outdoor a/c condenser that utilizes the furnace blower to distribute cool air. With the standard calculation, you would use the larger value between heating and cooling, this means the blower would not be counted for cooling season and this could run as high as 1500 watts. I have done a bit of searching and cannot find a calc that can account for this. Probably not a huge issue, however when you have to account for the garbage disposer (in reality 1-2 amps) and the blower isn't accounted for, just thought it strange to say the least.

In your example you would use the a/c as well as the motor for the furnace because the a/c uses that same motor as the gas furnace uses.
