Forced air electric heater 7500 watt

Will a breaker lock located in the basement load center suffice as a code compliant disconnecting means? Heater has no unit switch, remote controlled operation. Heater is located in garage.

I'd probably use a pull out AC disconnect 99% of the time. They are not that expensive, you likely are putting a box at the heater and transitioning to flex so you already spending most the cost of the AC disconnect between the breaker lock and that box, plus it can become very handy someday when you need to service the heater to not have to go into the house to shut the breaker off.
