Foreign pipe running through electric room

At a preliminary punch out of a job, I discovered that the plumbing contractor had run the main sprinkler pipe through my main electric room. The proposed solution was to soffit around the pipe with 2 hour rated gype board.

I'm not so sure I'm comfortable with this. Circumstances are such however, that if it's within code, I'm going to have to live with it. Would very much appreciate your input.

Like it or not it may be ok
110.26 (F)

(b) Foreign Systems. The area above the dedicated
space required by 110.26(F)(1)(a) shall be permitted to contain
foreign systems, provided protection is installed to
avoid damage to the electrical equipment from condensation,
leaks, or breaks in such foreign systems.
(c) Sprinkler Protection. Sprinkler protection shall be
permitted for the dedicated space where the piping complies
with this section.
