We have 6 electric battery chargers that are located on pallet racking up off the floor as to not get damaged by parking forklifts. I'm wondering what safety concerns need to be addressed if any with this arrangement.

I'm wondering if we need to possibly bond each chargers case to the racks and the racks be grounded ?

They are 480v 3 phase except 1 that is 440 single phase. They are 36v DC output http://forums.mikeholt.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

I see no requirements in the NEC for the racks to be grounded, however all none current carrying metal parts of the charger should be bonded. For my part it has allways been my motto, "when in dought bond it and ground it". Good Luck

I've seen more than a few yanked off the rack because the driver hooked one of the dangling charger cables from the next charger over. They usually don't fair too well when a couple hundred pound transformer drops 5-6'!
