one 75 ohm resistor in series with two 35 ohm resistors in parallel and the total ckt ampacity is .1 = what is the total ckt voltage? any help would be very appreciated, i lack skills in theroy..... thank you

Re: formula for resistors please?

Or:

Parallel:

1/Rp = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 .... + 1/Rn

For two in parallel:

Rp = R1R1/(R1 + R2)

Series:

Rs = R1 + R2 + R3 ..... + Rn

Inductors behave the same way.

Originally posted by the_starving_electrician:. . . and the total ckt ampacity is .1
Minor comment: It's more accurate to say that the current is .1 amps. The word "ampacity" has to do with the ability of a wire to carry current, and has nothing to do with the amount of current it is carrying at any given moment.
