I was drilling with confidence that this fish was going to be simple. Then all of a sudden my drill told me something. It told me: "You just hit something". I then dropped my head with neverousness—because If I hit a wire, now I will need to repair it :ashamed1:. So, after the drill notified me that I hit something, the only thing I could do was check what I hit, so I had to cut (remove a portion) the drywall. "An I found what……………” Finding this instead of a damaged wire (or etc) was a relief.

What the...? Is that a shirt inside a wall?

I always love when someone builds a wall over existing carpet, when the drill bit starts spewing out carpet shreds always makes you cringe until you realize what happened. :)

I was hanging a panel in a mechanical room once. Drilled my holes in the block and hit the hollow spaces. So I enlarged my holes and went to toggle bolts. Had just finished tightening the last one when the head of maintenance called me out into the hallway.

Found out the hard way that it was just a 4" block wall. My only saving grace was it should have been at least an 8" wall, but someone got by with it when the building was built in 1964.
